Senior Pharmacovigilance Scientist

Job Summary:
Hirani is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacovigilance Scientist to join our team on a contract basis. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective use of our products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Management: Assist in the planning, implementation, and management of projects related to pharmacovigilance, ensuring timely completion and adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Share and discuss data with the Operations Manager to ensure that pharmacovigilance projects are meeting agreed-upon timelines and targets.
- Team Leadership and Development: Assist in the line management and development of other scientific staff within Hirani, providing support and supervision, training, and staff appraisals.
- Process Improvement: Stay up-to-date with advancements in pharmacovigilance and assess and implement new or optimized processes and technologies to achieve or exceed targets.
- Lab Operations and Maintenance: Oversee routine laboratory operations and maintenance, including stock management, procurement, cleaning, equipment calibration, and ensuring compliance with safety procedures.
- Communication and Reporting: Prepare and present oral and written reports on research activities to internal and external audiences, ensuring clear and concise communication of results and findings.
- Professional Development: Remain proactive in continuing professional development (CPD) and stay current with industry developments and best practices.
- Safety and Compliance: Maintain awareness of all safety procedures, attend required safety training, and adhere to laboratory safety rules as defined by the Safety Manager.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that all duties are performed in accordance with organizational standards, policies, and procedures, and review and sign off on work carried out by junior members of staff.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree or higher in a science-related discipline.
- Experience: Experience working with antibodies and recombinant proteins, as well as a personal animal license.
- Communication and Technical Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and experience with MS Office applications.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with working in an ISO 9001:2015 environment and experience working with bio-layer interferometry or surface plasmon resonance-based systems.
