Key Responsibilities- Supervise classes across various subjects and year groups, managing student behavior and fostering a positive learning environment when the regular teacher is not present.
- Ensure that students understand and are actively engaged with the lesson plans and materials provided by the absent teacher.
- Effectively implement the school's behavior policy to maintain a disciplined and orderly classroom atmosphere.
- Assist students with their work, provide answers to their questions, and offer guidance as needed.
- Perform administrative tasks related to the role, such as recording attendance and reporting any incidents or concerns to the appropriate staff members.
- Collaborate with other teaching staff to ensure smooth and continuous educational delivery throughout the school day.
- Support school events, exams, and other activities as required.
- A minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics is preferred.
- Previous experience in a similar educational setting or working with children is beneficial but not essential.
- Strong communication skills, the ability to effectively manage a classroom, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Enthusiastic, adaptable, and dedicated to fostering a positive learning environment. The ability to work both independently and as part of a team is essential.
