Job Summary:

The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of our onboard facilities, providing exceptional service to our guests, and leading a team of housekeeping staff to achieve high standards of quality and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the housekeeping department, including cleaning, maintenance, and laundry services.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure high standards of cleanliness and quality.
  • Lead and motivate a team of housekeeping staff to achieve their full potential and provide excellent service to our guests.
  • Monitor and control costs, including inventory management and budgeting.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery and high guest satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of housekeeping staff.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching and counseling to staff as needed.

Requirements:

  • Two to three years of progressive housekeeping management experience, preferably in an upscale hotel, resort, or cruise ship.
  • Preferred bachelor's degree in hospitality management, business administration, or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Extensive knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, chemical handling, and safety procedures.
  • Knowledge of talent assessment techniques, quality service standards, and guest satisfaction.
  • Working knowledge of computers, Internet access, and software packages such as Excel, Word, or related Company programs.
  • Strong results-oriented management style with proven successes.
  • Ability to communicate diplomatically with managers, shipboard and shore-side employees to resolve problems and negotiate amicable resolution to challenges.

Working Conditions:

The Housekeeping Manager will work in a fast-paced environment, interacting with guests, staff, and management to ensure seamless service delivery and high guest satisfaction. The position requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
