About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and innovative leader to join our team as Deputy Director of Natural Environment. As part of our mission to promote sustainability and biodiversity, you will play a leading role in shaping the future of our green spaces and driving forward key conservation and sustainability initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee significant areas such as natural and cultural heritage, learning initiatives, and carbon removal projects
  • Deliver innovative strategies that protect and enhance London's green spaces
  • Develop strong partnerships and income generation plans to ensure long-term sustainability
  • Lead on key initiatives, including carbon removal at West Ham Park and conservation investments at Hampstead Heath and Wanstead Park
  • Drive broader strategies around environmental resilience, visitor engagement, and land management
About You

We are looking for a strategic thinker with a strong background in conservation, heritage, or environmental services. You will have a proven track record of managing large-scale projects and delivering innovative solutions. Strong leadership and communication skills are critical, as you will engage with senior stakeholders, Members, and external partners to shape and implement the City's environmental strategies.
