Are you a highly experienced Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist looking for a part-time opportunity with Elysium Healthcare? As a Specialist in CAMHS Eating Disorders, you will be responsible for providing Tier 4 inpatient services to young people with eating disorders.

We are seeking a talented individual to join our team at Brighton and Hove Clinic, a specialist Inpatient Eating Disorder service for children and young people aged 12 up to 18 years. You will design and deliver evidence-based treatment programmes tailored to the individual needs of each young person.

As an ideal candidate, you will be registered on the Specialist Register for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry with a license to practice, possessing significant experience in CAMHS Eating Disorders and leadership roles within multidisciplinary teams. You will be required to participate in the on-call rota for a small group of CAMHS & ED services.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a case load as RC of the ward
  • Participating in the assessment and management of children and young people referred to the Service
  • Assessing physical health and documenting findings within Care notes and weekly ICR meetings
  • Ensuring completion of professional reports as per timeline such as ICRs/CPA/Tribunals
  • Acting as Responsible Clinician for patients detained under the Mental Health Act
  • Attending CETRs when needed
  • Providing leadership, supervision, reflection, and risk management to the key workers on the team
  • Participating in the CAMHS Consultant on-call rota
  • Participating in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) as approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists
  • Upholding the principles of Clinical Governance and adhering to the organisation's clinical governance requirements
  • Taking part in an Annual Appraisal Programme, with the development of Personal Development Plans, focused on Continuing Professional Development
  • Adhering to all the organisations policies and procedures

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • Registered on the Specialist Register for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry with a licence to practice
  • Experience of CAMHS eating disorders desirable
  • Medically qualified with MRCPsych or equivalent
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills
  • Innovative and imaginative with the ability to initiate corporate decisions
  • Leadership ability
  • The ability to affect change professionally and organisationally
