Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Contract General Manager to join our team at SUEZ. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing the domestic waste and recycling collection, processing, and bulking out of recyclable materials in line with our sites' permit and planning permission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure all facets of the collection business are carried out in compliance with our legal obligations and internal standards.
- Manage a large workforce of manual employees, a fleet of refuse collection and recycling vehicles, and fixed and mobile plant.
- Organise and manage collection rounds, vehicles, and employees in the most effective manner.
- Work with colleagues to add value to recycling materials, increase tonnages, and assist local authorities exceed their targets.
Requirements:
- Demonstrate a good track record of managing a similar large logistical operation.
- Maintain excellent working relationships with local authority clients.
- Ability to problem solve and plan logistics, including complex collection requirements.
- Financial reporting skills and a good track record of managing a budget.
- Ability to communicate at a high level, negotiate, and motivate a large workforce.
- Good track record of health and safety management.
