Senior Critical Care Nurse

An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a Band 6 senior staff nurse to work within the Critical Care Unit in a hospital operated by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board.
The Critical Care Unit aims to deliver safe, high-quality care and ensures a positive patient experience. As part of our team, you will represent the Trust in delivering nursing care in line with BCUHB Values and treat all staff/colleagues, patients, families, and visitors with respect and dignity.
Main ResponsibilitiesThe Senior Staff Nurse in Critical Care will be responsible for ensuring a high level of patient care at all times throughout the unit. They will be actively involved in, as well as supervising, patient care, managing unplanned admissions and ensuring accurate staffing levels.
Key Requirements- NMC Registered Nurse
- Diploma or Degree in Nursing
- Advanced Life Support or willingness to undertake
- Post Registration Course relevant to critical care area
- Mandatory training to be up to date
- Significant experience in band 5 in critical care
- Experience of undertaking research/audit work and standard settings
- Evidence of good organisational skills
- Advanced clinical skills/knowledge relevant to area of expertise
- Evidence of people management and leadership skills alongside the ability to care with warmth and understanding
- Evidence of critical analysis skills
- Effective decision maker and problem solver
- Ability to negotiate and communicate with patients, relatives and all members of the Multidisciplinary Team
- Ability to adapt to and propose changes within working situation
- Ability to speak Welsh
- Be empathetic, compassionate and diplomatic
