Design and Product Assistant Job Description

Claude & Co, a leading independent children's fashion brand, is seeking a highly skilled Design and Product Assistant to join our dynamic team. As a key member of the product development team, you will be responsible for supporting the design, development, and production of our collections.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design Support: Collaborate with the product team to create on-brand, cohesive collections, accurately translating garment construction into technical drawings and specification sheets.
  • Trend Research: Conduct design and trend research to inform the design process and support creative inspiration.
  • Artwork Coordination: Work closely with the print team on artwork preparations and coordinate with the fabric team to ensure design accuracy with suppliers.
  • CAD Proficiency: Create and refine CADs and product designs for sampling and development.

Product Development:

  • Product Curation: Assist in curating collections aligned with Claude & Co's brand aesthetic and market trends.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop for technical drawing and artwork preparation, with skills in Office Excel and Google sheets for tracking and managing data.
  • Quality Control: Work with the technologist to provide feedback and updates, ensuring all samples meet design and production standards.

Requirements:

  • Education and Experience: Degree or equivalent experience in Fashion Design or related fields, with prior experience in a similar role within the fashion industry.
  • Knowledge and Passion: In-depth knowledge of product design, garment construction, fabrics, and production processes, with a genuine enthusiasm for children's fashion and market trends.
  • Organisational Skills: Strong multitasking ability, with excellent attention to detail and capability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
