Electrical Maintenance Professional for Coventry Location

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our Estates and Facilities Team, based in Coventry.
Job DescriptionThe successful candidate will be responsible for performing daily preventative and breakdown maintenance activities on plant and equipment. This includes carrying out electrical installations, such as new electrical connections for plant and machinery, commissioning and decommissioning of equipment and plant.
The ideal candidate will work alongside external contractors to ensure machine and facility repairs, renewals, and maintenance are carried out in accordance with MTC instruction and standards. They will also review external contractors' health and safety documentation prior to work commencing on site.
The role requires high standards of housekeeping, work quality, and work attitude. The successful candidate will install equipment and facility plant on all MTC sites, carry out fault diagnosis and problem-solving on equipment and facility plant, and respond to breakdowns and ad-hoc maintenance requests across all sites.
In addition, the successful candidate will produce service reports for all work carried out, support problem-solving activities on equipment or system faults, and carry out annual services on plant and equipment.
They will also complete required training and development to maintain competence in the role and use a company mobile phone/tablet or laptop to log/close and update work orders on a CAFM system.
Liaising with contractors or external suppliers where required and clearly communicating technical issues is also an essential part of the role.
The successful candidate will support the generation of risk assessments and COSHH assessments for maintenance activities and ensure that work is carried out to a high standard of quality and in line with current legal standards, company policies, and procedures.
Mentoring apprentices is also a key aspect of this role.
Essential Skills and QualificationsThe ideal candidate will have previous experience in a maintenance or facilities role and hold a Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation, such as City and Guilds Level 3 2360 or 2365, or equivalent.
They will also hold a Level 3 Inspection and Testing certificate, such as City and Guilds 2391 or equivalent, and have knowledge of the 18th edition wiring regulations.
A full UK driver's license is essential for the role, and the successful candidate will be willing to provide standby cover out of hours on a 24/7 rota basis in case of emergencies and be flexible to provide cover if required for holidays and sickness.
The ideal candidate will also have the ability to use a mobile phone to open, close jobs on a CAFM system and be willing to learn and progress in an ever-changing environment.
