This exciting opportunity is now available for a Product Safety Engineer to join our SSNA Combat System team in Coventry.

About the Job:

We are looking for an experienced Product Safety Engineer to support the development, delivery and maintenance of the Project Product Safety Management System and Product Safety Case. You will work collaboratively with a growing team of engineers on major development programmes, influencing project progress and career growth within BAE Systems.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Support the derivation and management of Product Safety requirements from hazard and risk identification.
  • Work in accordance with Project Safety Management Plans.
  • Influence safe design development and the Project Safety Case, including logical technical safety arguments and reports.
  • Support hazard identification meetings and maintain the project hazard log.
  • Complete peer reviews, verification and assurance tasks to demonstrate the Safety Case's adequacy.

Your Skills and Experience:

Essential Qualifications:

  • Understanding of engineering safety management processes, such as hazard analysis and logical safety arguments.
  • Previous experience creating justification reports.
  • Knowledge of Safety Engineering principles and application of processes.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Systems engineering Tools and techniques (e.g. DOORS, Enterprise Architect).
  • Familiarity with JIRA.
