About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced social scientist to join our Corporate Research and Evaluation team at Companies House. As Deputy Head of Research and Evaluation, you will play a crucial role in shaping our research strategy and leading the delivery of high-quality research and evaluation projects.

Key Responsibilities

As Deputy Head of Research and Evaluation, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading the development of our Corporate Research Strategy and plans, aligning with our strategic goals and outcomes.
  • Managing a small team of researchers and providing guidance on research methods and techniques.
  • Collaborating with cross-government partners and internal stakeholders to undertake research and evaluation projects.
  • Developing and delivering training to colleagues on the value of social research and behavioural science.
  • Ensuring the delivery of high-quality research and evaluation projects, including randomised control trials and nudge techniques.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Strong leadership and management skills, with experience of team supervision.
  • Excellent social research skills, including qualitative and quantitative methods.
  • Experience of delivering research and evaluation projects from scoping to publication.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to communicate complex research findings to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience of working in a research agency, market research agency, or specialist research team.
