About the Role:

As a Family Support Worker with Prospero Health & Social Care - Chelmsford, you will play a vital role in providing emotional and social support to families facing challenges. Your primary objective will be to work closely with children, parents, and carers to connect them with relevant resources and services, fostering a stable and nurturing environment for children.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide one-on-one and group support to families, focusing on individual needs.
• Support child development, parenting, and relationship-building.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including social services, health professionals, and schools, to ensure coordinated support.
• Assist families in accessing community resources.
• Offer guidance on parenting skills, child behaviour, and emotional well-being.
• Provide crisis intervention when necessary, helping families navigate difficult situations.
• Maintain detailed records of interactions, progress, and outcomes for families.

Requirements:
• A minimum of 1 year's UK experience working with children and families in a support role, ideally within a community or social care setting.
• Ability to provide 3 years professional references.
• Enhanced adult and child DBS registered on the update service or willingness to process a new one with Prospero.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with diverse families.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures.
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to handle sensitive situations with compassion and professionalism.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to travel for home visits and community outreach.
