Senior Research Engineer

Join our team at Understanding Recruitment as a Senior Research Engineer and take on a challenging role that combines research and development in AI and Robotics.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced researcher to lead our research efforts in reasoning and semantics within the ML team. As a Senior Research Engineer, you will be responsible for setting research priorities, mentoring junior staff, and collaborating with stakeholders to apply research findings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead research in reasoning and semantics within the ML team
  • Set research priorities and mentor junior staff
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to apply research findings
  • Stay current with AI/ML advancements and drive intellectual property generation
  • Represent the company at academic and industry events
  • Contribute to grant proposals for securing research funding
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • PhD in computer science, AI, or related fields, specializing in reasoning, semantics, or symbolic AI
  • Deep understanding of knowledge representation, logic programming, semantic web, ontologies, and transformer-based models such as LLM and VLA networks
  • Skilled in Python, Java, C++, and deep learning tools like TensorFlow or PyTorch
  • Proven track record of independent research and publication in leading AI/ML conferences and journals
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and effective communication skills for presenting complex technical ideas
