Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers, providing technical guidance and support to ensure the reliability and performance of our systems.
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership for the SE/SRE function within our Analytics team, defining and upholding SRE best practices.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and management of data infrastructure components, ensuring high availability and optimal performance for data pipelines, storage systems, and data processing frameworks.
  • Own CI/CD pipelines to automate software delivery processes, streamline deployments, and enhance overall development efficiency.
  • Lead incident response and post-mortem analysis to identify root causes and implement preventive measures.
  • Develop and maintain robust monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify potential issues and ensure quick response and resolution to incidents.
  • Drive automation initiatives to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual intervention in the data engineering workflow.
  • Foster effective collaboration with data engineering teams, data scientists, and other stakeholders to understand requirements, assess system needs, and ensure alignment with overall business objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with data security, privacy, and regulatory requirements, implementing best practices for data protection and working with security teams to address vulnerabilities.
  • Conduct capacity planning and scaling exercises to accommodate growing data volumes and changing business needs, ensuring our data systems remain reliable and performant.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for SRE processes, best practices, and system architecture, facilitating knowledge sharing and seamless onboarding for new team members.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in Data Engineering, Software Engineering, SRE, or a related technical domain, with a proven record of accomplishment of managing complex data infrastructure projects.
  • Strong expertise in data engineering technologies, cloud platforms, and data processing frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark, Hadoop, Kafka).
  • Solid understanding of SRE principles, reliability engineering, and best practices for building scalable, fault-tolerant systems.
  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools, monitoring and alerting systems, and automated configuration management.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating system issues.
  • Experience in managing and mentoring technical teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
