Hospital Optometrist Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive Optometric Service at a hospital in Gibraltar.

Gibraltar is a highly attractive place to live and work due to its high standard of living, Mediterranean climate and modern English-speaking hospitals.

The appointee will use their advanced clinical skills and experience to deliver, assess, diagnose and formulate treatment plans for patients referred to the Optometry Service.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Registration with the UKs General Optical Council (GOC) is essential
  • A degree or qualification specifically approved by the GOC is required
  • Minimum 3 years experience post-qualification is necessary
  • Availability to relocate and start within a few weeks is essential

Salary and Benefits

  • NHS salary scales: £42,439 - £46,128 per annum depending on experience
  • Excellent accommodation provided by the hospital or housing allowance
  • 12 month contract
