Job Description:

We are seeking a talented and passionate Drama Teacher to join our dedicated team of educators and work within a secondary school in Telford. As a Drama Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging and innovative drama lessons that inspire and challenge students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality drama lessons that meet the needs of all students.
  • Develop and implement curriculum plans that align with the National Curriculum and the school's educational objectives.
  • Direct and oversee student productions, guiding students through the rehearsal process and ensuring high-quality performances.
  • Assess student progress through a variety of formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate drama across the curriculum and participate in school-wide events and productions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Drama, Performing Arts, Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification is preferred but not essential.
  • Previous experience teaching drama at the secondary school level, with a proven track record of student success.
  • Deep knowledge of drama pedagogy, theatre history, and dramatic literature.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Creativity, adaptability, and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment.
