We are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Laing O'Rourke's Dartford office. As a key member of our Select Plant Hire business unit, you will play a crucial role in managing commercial aspects of our projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage specific areas of projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Oversee commercial duties, including measurement, valuation, and agreement of work sections.
  • Assist in preparing interim payment applications and internal valuations.
  • Monitor and report monthly costs, ensuring accurate financial management.
  • Draft, manage, and settle subcontracts, with assistance from senior colleagues.
  • Prepare, agree, maintain, and file records, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Advise project management on contractual implications of intended actions.
  • Assist in preparing claims, identifying changes, and administering change control processes.
  • Contribute to the preparation of final accounts, including pricing.
  • Draft monthly contract review reports and weekly Business Performance Review (BPR) information.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, stakeholders, and clients, ensuring clear and confident professional communication.
  • Manage trainee and assistant Commercial personnel, providing guidance and support.
Requirements:
  • Autonomously delivered a small to medium project or supported a commercial manager on a larger project.
  • Hold a degree in a relevant discipline, such as Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management.
