Financial Regulatory Specialist

Hays Accountancy and Finance is working in partnership with a large public sector organisation to recruit a Staff Officer Accountant for their Housing Regulation Branch. This is a competitive market-leading salary and public benefits role that offers a unique opportunity to work in a regulatory environment.
Key Responsibilities- Undertake annual regulatory financial assessments of Registered Housing Associations;
- Review the performance of Registered Housing Associations on a quarterly basis;
- Manage mortgage and disposal notifications from Registered Housing Associations;
- Support the work of the branch in delivering an effective regulatory regime, including advice and guidance for the social housing sector.
- Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) or Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Ireland (CPA Ireland) qualification;
- Previous experience in a regulatory environment, preferably in the public sector;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Hybrid working arrangement, with 1 day in the office and 2 days remote work from September; flexible working options available; free parking at the office.
