About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Information Governance professional to join our team at NHS South Central and West Commissioning Support Unit.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of information governance principles and practices, with a focus on ensuring compliance with health sector requirements and statutory obligations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality support to our organisation and customers, including NHS Data Security and Protection Toolkit support and processing of Subject Access Requests.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to deliver services and projects, including collecting, reporting, and analysis of information.
  • Liaise with customers and SCW colleagues to ensure timely and effective management of Subject Access Requests under the General Data Protection regulations and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Requirements
  • Advanced knowledge of software programmes such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and databases.
  • Previous experience in a similar role supporting senior teams.
  • Knowledge of administrative and organisational procedures acquired through training and/or relevant experience.
  • Experience of developing office administrative systems and protocols.
  • Understanding of the Health and Social Care environment and responsibilities within it.
  • Experience of taking and transcribing formal minutes.

  • Well-developed interpersonal and oral/written communication skills, including dealing with complex and sensitive communications.
  • Attention to detail and ability to extract key messages from complex information.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and organise own workload without supervision, working to tight and often changing timescales.

  • Ability to travel between sites.
