About the Role

This senior leadership position requires a technical leader who can provide broad expertise in satellite network design and associated technologies, including space asset management, routing/switching and networking technologies, terrestrial networks, IT solutions for monitoring and reporting functions, cyber/IA requirements, satellite terminals, and control systems.

Main Responsibilities
  • Establish short-term and long-term goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures for your department.
  • Monitor and evaluate team performance to ensure the right skills exist to meet customer demand and solutions are delivered to desired quality, budget, and timescale.
  • Have overall control of planning, staffing, budgeting, and managing expense priorities.
  • Review return on investment activities to ensure the team is utilized to deliver the greatest commercial benefit for Viasat.
  • Develop the team to be agile, responsive to internal and external customer needs, and a leading technical authority in key technology areas as defined by the BU strategy.
In Support of Commercial Management Team
  • Provide support to bids and tenders that require engineering input, fully documenting high-quality solutions in a timely and collaborative way.
  • Guide Commercial Managers and Sales on the art of the possible, ensuring innovation is driven to maximize competitive advantage.
  • Provide technical leadership on any technical matter raised as part of the bid response, including liaising with other technical teams to resolve issues, manage technical risk, and ensure requisite support is in place.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this role is $120,000 - $180,000, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, Viasat offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and generous paid time off.
