Job Summary

The Environmental and Sustainability Officer will play a crucial role in assisting the Environmental and Sustainability Manager in developing and implementing the Trust's plans to reduce its environmental impact. This includes reducing energy consumption, water usage, and carbon emissions across the Trust's estate and partner sites.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assist in implementing current and emerging legislation related to environmental management and sustainability.
  • Liaise with the Environmental and Sustainability Manager to ensure effective management of utility contracts and energy usage.
  • Develop and deliver sustainability behaviour change and staff engagement programmes to promote environmental awareness and reduce costs.
  • Support sustainability communications both internally and externally, and contribute to the development of the Green Plan.
  • Work collaboratively with clinical staff and stakeholders to progress the sustainability agenda.

Requirements
  • Minimum NVQ level 3 or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject area, such as environmental management, science, engineering, or healthcare.
  • Experience in identifying and addressing environmental and sustainability issues within an organisation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels.
  • IT literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and email.
