Molecular Plant Pathologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Molecular Plant Pathologist to join our team at the National Institute of Agricultural Botany (NIAB). As a key member of our Plant Pathology department, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our understanding of plant pathogens and their interactions with crops.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct molecular biology research to investigate the mechanisms of plant pathogen infection and fungicide resistance.
- Develop and implement novel molecular techniques to support our research projects, including DNA extractions, PCR, and sequencing.
- Collaborate with our team of experts to design and execute experiments, and analyze data to inform our research findings.
- Contribute to the preparation of peer-reviewed publications and present research findings at conferences.
- BSc degree in a relevant subject, such as biological sciences, plant sciences, microbiology, or genetics.
- Experience in molecular biology, including DNA and RNA extractions, PCR, and cloning.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to a positive team environment.
