About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a leading national organisation committed to improving the lives of children and young adults with epilepsy and related conditions.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will be a vital part of a collaborative team comprising therapists, nurses, and support workers.

Your role will be to provide individualised support to students with special educational needs and disabilities, creating a secure and supportive learning environment that encourages students to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prioritise the needs of students in every aspect of your work
  • Create a secure and supportive learning environment that encourages students to reach their full potential
  • Utilise individualised approaches to support students in both one-on-one and group learning settings
  • Assist educators in the execution of their lessons
  • Monitor and record students' achievements relative to their learning goals
  • Organise and coordinate educational outings and activities
  • Perform administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our educational programs
About You

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • A passion for working with children and young adults (aged 19-25)
  • A commitment to achieving the best outcomes for the individuals you support
  • Creativity in developing new ideas to engage students
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities
  • The ability to take initiative and handle challenging situations effectively
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A willingness to pursue or complete a Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools (with financial support available)
  • Prior experience in classroom settings, with the ability to track and record student progress
  • Ideally, familiarity with specialised areas such as Autism, Epilepsy, and PMLD

Our institution is a non-maintained residential special school catering to young adults aged 19-25, with a focus on innovative and inclusive education for those with SEND, particularly those with epilepsy, autism, and severe learning and communication difficulties.
