About the Role:
The Sports Venue Operations Manager will be responsible for driving sports engagement and business development at The Station Sports Bar in Bognor Regis. This role requires a strong focus on creating an energetic sports environment, promoting televised sports events, and developing in-house sports leagues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sports Promotion & Engagement: Develop and execute strategies to promote sports events and engage with sports enthusiasts, driving trade during key sporting events.
- Community Outreach & Local Engagement: Establish the bar as a hub for charity events, community gatherings, and special occasions, building strong connections within the local area through partnerships with local businesses and groups.
- Firm but Fair Customer Management: Maintain a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for all guests, approaching any difficult situations or undesirables firmly but fairly.
- Marketing & Social Media: Spearhead marketing initiatives, focusing on social media, to increase the visibility of The Station Sports Bar and attract new customers.
- Hands-On Team Leadership: Lead a small, dedicated team by example, providing day-to-day support and ensuring high standards across all service areas.
- Customer Service Excellence: Ensure the bar provides a welcoming and enjoyable environment, managing customer enquiries or issues professionally.
- Operations Management: Oversee daily operations, including inventory control, supply management, health and safety compliance, and cleanliness.
- Financial Oversight: Manage the bar's finances, budgeting, tracking sales and expenses, and implementing effective pricing strategies.
- Business Development: Identify opportunities to expand offerings, draw in new customers, and establish connections with the local community, supporting the bar's growth and increasing its competitive edge.
- Training & Development: Lead training initiatives to continually enhance the team's skills, focusing on customer service, product knowledge, and responsible alcohol service.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
This role is ideal for a confident, proactive manager with a genuine passion for sports and a commitment to building a thriving, community-focused sports bar. We're looking for someone with a firm, hands-on management style who can foster a sense of loyalty among regular patrons and is skilled in social media and digital marketing.
We estimate the salary for this role to be around £40,000-£50,000 per annum, depending on experience. If you have the vision and experience to lead The Station Sports Bar into its next chapter, we would love to hear from you.
