Job Summary

We are looking for a seasoned Financial Controller to oversee the day-to-day management of our finance function. The successful candidate will provide insightful financial reporting and commercial analysis to our leadership team, supporting strategic planning and growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Planning and Analysis
    • Assist in the formulation of medium and long-term financial plans
    • Oversee the budgeting process, working closely with senior management
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis
    • Deliver competitor analysis, market trends, and associated commentary to the leadership team
    • Ensure control policies and procedures are relevant and adequate to protect the business
  • Cash Flow Management
    • Complete all cash flow analysis, including the rolling 13-week cash forecast
  • Tax Compliance
    • Comply with all tax requirements, including PAYE, CIS, VAT, and Corporation Tax
  • Financial Management
    • Manage the finance department, including sales and purchase ledger and payroll
    • Analysis of expenditure across the business and to highlight inefficiencies and potential cost savings
  • Financial Planning and Budgeting
    • Prepare and review monthly management accounts, covenant testing, and KPIs
    • Provide variance analysis and recommendations for improvement
  • Leadership and Management
    • Lead and manage the finance team, ensuring effective communication and collaboration

Requirements

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Previous experience as FP&A or Financial Controller
  • Strong IT skills, including Excel and database systems
  • Experience of leading and managing others
  • Previous experience of accounting systems essential
  • Experience of PE-backed businesses desirable
