Job Title: Trainee Safety Technician

UTAC Millbrook is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Trainee Safety Technician to join their Safety team. As a Trainee Safety Technician, you will be responsible for providing technical support to the laboratory, adhering to correct procedures and health and safety guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare vehicles and test rigs for passive safety tests to customer requirements
  • Perform mechanical fitting of equipment to vehicles and test rigs
  • Set up high-speed cameras for test filming to customer requirements
  • Configure computer-controlled data acquisition systems
  • Collect and download data during tests
  • Set up crash dummies to customer requirements
  • Liaise with UTAC engineers to ensure smooth test operations
  • Work from established procedures to ensure consistency and quality
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance test processes
Requirements:
  • GCSE or above in relevant subjects
  • Mechanical or Electrical Engineering apprenticeship (desirable)
  • Basic computing skills, including proficiency in software applications
  • General fitting, basic fabrication, and vehicle mechanic skills (desirable)

  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet changing test requirements
