Job Title: Trainee Safety Technician

UTAC Millbrook is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Safety team as a Trainee Safety Technician. This exciting opportunity will provide the successful candidate with the necessary training and support to develop their skills and knowledge in the field of safety engineering.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare vehicles and test rigs for safety tests, adhering to customer requirements and safety guidelines.
  • Perform mechanical fitting of equipment to vehicles and test rigs.
  • Set up high-speed cameras and computer-controlled data acquisition systems for test filming and data collection.
  • Collect and download data during tests, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
  • Set up crash dummies and liaise with UTAC engineers to ensure successful test outcomes.
  • Work from established procedures and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
  • GCSE or above in a relevant subject.
  • Mechanical or Electrical Engineering apprenticeship (desirable).
  • Basic computing skills and experience with general hand tools.
  • Excellent record-keeping skills and basic maths and computing abilities.

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently or in a team.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to learn specific, practical techniques and apply knowledge to solve problems and create solutions.
