The successful Senior Mechanical Design Lead will play a pivotal role in driving the development of cutting-edge, technologically complex instruments and systems for challenging and interesting applications within ACS Performance.

  • As the design authority, oversee all electronics, software, and mechanical design activities within the company, ensuring seamless integration and innovation.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Engineering to manage design and development projects, providing strategic guidance and expertise.
  • Assign tasks to the Mechanical Design team, setting project goals, negotiating with vendors and clients, and ensuring projects stay within time and budgetary restraints.
  • Mentor and develop the team, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
  • Design and develop scientific instrumentation from concept to final product, pushing the boundaries of what is possible.
  • Stay ahead of the curve by researching and implementing design and manufacturing tools and techniques that can benefit the company.
  • Lead specific product design activities within projects, driving results and delivering high-quality outcomes.
  • Manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and exceeding client expectations.
  • Contribute to business development by identifying opportunities and developing strategies to drive growth and revenue.

  • A deep understanding of engineering disciplines and a high level of design ability and engineering knowledge, as well as project management skills to plan budgets and resources.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively communicate goals and vision to the team.
