About the Role

Tarmac is seeking a skilled Machine Operator to join our production team at Swains Park in Swadlincote. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the machinery is set and in optimum condition to meet our monthly production targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the site team to maintain production efficiency and quality.
  • Perform timely and well-engineered resolutions to breakdowns, providing a solution-focused approach.
  • Produce high-quality specialist cementitious products to a production gold standard, in accordance with customer specifications across multiple product variations.
  • Complete daily machinery standard checks, ensuring all documentation is completed relating to safety, performance, availability, and quality requirements.
  • Responsible for machine-specific OLM Schedules, including recording and reporting aligned to best-in-class performance as per skills matrix.
  • Support Mobile Fitting teams in fault diagnosis, repairs, and planned maintenance activities.
  • Set up and operate automated machines in accordance with production requirements on-site and aligned to the training matrix.
  • Responsible for critical spares, inventory management, on-shelf availability, and re-ordering process.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working as a Machine Operator or similar with a sound maintenance knowledge gained within a fast-paced production environment.
  • Ability to work towards achieving production targets.
  • Keen eye for quality control.
  • Ability to comply with H&S regulations.
  • Flexible towards working hours and willingness to work overtime.
  • Team player.
