Job Role

The Assistant Psychologist will support and enhance the psychological care of clients within Maidstone by assisting the Qualified Psychologist in delivering and evaluating effective services that meet Cygnet's Healthcare objectives, national strategic and policy guidelines, commissioner requirements, and user and carer needs and expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administration, scoring, and report writing of psychometric assessments, standardised risk assessments, clinical formulation, and supervised individual and group interventions.
  • Understanding, preventing, and ameliorating psychological distress and disorder, and improving the mental health and well-being of clients.
Requirements

You will be a strong team player, confident, motivated, and well-organised. A good understanding of therapeutic boundaries, clinical risk, and the importance of evidence-based interventions is essential. Patience and commitment are critical, but above all, you'll have a genuine desire to help others.

We are looking for someone with a good degree in Psychology; further postgraduate training in a relevant area of applied psychology and mental health is desirable. Previous experience of working within mental health services is essential, and experience as an Assistant Psychologist delivering 1:1 therapeutic work and/or group therapy sessions is desirable.

All candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and reference checks.
