Job Description

Pertemps is seeking a highly skilled Quality Inspector to join our team. As a Quality Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring that all incoming supplier deliveries meet the required specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage Supplier Deliveries: Coordinate with drivers on site to ensure efficient processing while prioritizing safety.
  • Oversee Bulk Tanker Operations: Ensure correct material handling, sampling, and testing are carried out, and complete inspections and documentation to meet permit requirements.
  • Ensure DSR Process: Follow the Delivery Site Requirements process by all tanker off loaders, report issues to relevant departments, and maintain up-to-date training materials and records.
  • Receive and Inspect Palletised Deliveries: Confirm product quality and specifications, and notify appropriate departments of any discrepancies.
  • Update Booking Systems: Ensure delivery information is accurate, and track missing documents as needed.
  • Collaborate with Production and Stock Control Teams: Address delivery or product issues that may affect order schedules.
  • Identify and Document Non-Conformance: Capture all relevant information when issues arise with product, quantity, specification, delivery, or adherence to site rules.
  • Generate Supplier Return Notes: Label pallets ready for collection.
  • Manage Quarantine Area: Oversee non-conforming products to ensure swift resolution.
  • Inspect Returned Pallets: Determine their next steps, whether to be re-stocked, scrapped, or reworked.
  • Conduct Random Weight Checks: Ensure compliance with product and packaging requirements, including packaging components, full pallets, and finished goods.
  • Maintain Documentation: Record and document inspection and audit results thoroughly.
  • Perform QHSE Inspections: Audit pick faces and finished goods, recording findings accurately, and working with local teams to resolve issues.
  • Assist QHSE Manager: Introduce new products, quality systems, tools, and techniques.
  • Promote Compliance: Act as a champion for Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental requirements.
  • Support QHSE Tasks: Provide support in other QHSE tasks and functions as needed.
Required Experience:
  • Knowledge of Quality Management: In-depth knowledge of the 7 Principles of Quality Management.
  • Commercial Awareness: Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of how quality performance impacts business outcomes.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confidence and Credibility: Confidence and credibility in demonstrating expertise in both people and product safety.
  • Adaptability: Adaptable and flexible, with the ability to assertively enforce quality standards when necessary.
  • Organisational Skills: Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
