As a key member of our team, you'll play a crucial role in accelerating this transition by overseeing the facilities of UK, including major buildings in London, Milton Keynes, and Aberdeen, or plants, including Real Estate operations.

Job Scope and Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor budgets and recommend appropriate corrective actions to ensure optimal financial management.
  • Manage Real Estate transactions and serve as the primary point of contact with landlords to ensure seamless property management.
  • Contribute to the technical and economic management of property projects, ensuring alignment with business requirements.
  • Coordinate contracts with suppliers and contractors to meet set programs and requirements, focusing on costs and building conditions.
  • Oversee the transfer of premises, ensuring a smooth transition for all parties involved.
  • Contribute to the selection of outside suppliers and contractors, ensuring compliance with tender specifications and requirements.
  • Develop tender specifications to meet the organization's property requirements, driving value and efficiency.
  • Prepare reports on technical and economic information about property trends for management, providing valuable insights.
  • Maintain relationships with regulatory bodies and institutions to obtain necessary authorizations and permits.
  • Lead a team of Building & Facilities Managers, providing guidance and support to ensure team success.
  • Update or consolidate metrics, Real Estate trackers, opex, and share best practice tools to drive continuous improvement.
  • Implement and maintain a workplace environment that meets business requirements, prioritizing health, safety, and security.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to internal and external clients, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded.

Building Management, Health, Safety, and Security

  • Manage building services and operations to provide a safe and secure environment that meets business requirements and adheres to Group standards and UK regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with government regulations, health, and safety standards, maintaining a proactive approach to risk management.
  • Respond to emergency situations, liaising with emergency services to resolve issues and maintain security and service.
  • Write accurate reports and action plans following audits and incidents, taking ownership of expected actions.
  • Effectively manage site waste and recycling, considering environmental and health and safety factors.
  • Monitor, review, and update site-related risk assessments and method statements as per schedule and necessity.
  • Test fire alarm systems, including setting and disengaging the alarm panel, and activating call points, promptly addressing alarm activations.
  • Proactively supervise on-site health and safety activities, reviewing accidents and promoting safe working practices.
  • Ensure maintenance of required standards and completion of necessary action points during Health and Safety audits.

Key Interactions

Internally: HSES, Quality, P&C, Communication, Finance, Legal, IT, Project team, Sourcing & Procurement, and other related disciplines.

Externally: Contractors, Suppliers, Relevant property bodies and institutions, and Landlords.

Typical Background and Experience Required

Must have:
• Bachelor degree with significant experience in Real Estate or facilities management.

• Knowledge on Finance, Project Management, Construction, related laws, and regulations.

Team management with at least 5 people.

Experience in Project Management.

Nice to have:
• DSE training.

• IOSH certification.
