Role Overview

The Barts Health NHS Trust seeks a highly skilled Child Speech and Language Specialist to join its diverse team. This Band 5 position offers a full-time opportunity with flexible working arrangements available.

This role involves supporting children and young people with varied speech, language, and communication needs to reach their potential. You will have a small allocation of schools to visit weekly, providing specialist assessments, interventions, and training to school staff and parents.

We offer a clear timetable for the day, allowing for prioritization and organization of tasks. Key benefits include:

To be successful in this role, you will have a recognized qualification in Speech and Language Therapy, be registered with the HCPC, and a member of RCSLT. You should also have undergraduate experience in theories, assessment, and therapy techniques for children with communication disorders, as well as implications for delays/disorders within an educational setting.

This role requires excellent written and verbal presentation skills, good prioritization and organizational skills, and the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with people from a wide range of cultures and organizations, including schools.
