Marine Environmental Specialist

TetraTech RPS Energy is seeking a highly skilled Senior/Principal Environmental Consultant to join our Marine Consenting team. This role will involve delivering client projects in the UK and internationally, primarily focusing on Offshore Wind but also encompassing other offshore/coastal sectors.
We operate a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to be based in Edinburgh, Woking, Chepstow, Aberdeen, or London, with flexible working opportunities, including part-time roles, to ensure a balance between work and personal life.
As a member of our deeply experienced marine consenting and environment team, you will be working on and managing a range of EIAs on large-scale marine and coastal infrastructure projects, with a particular focus on Offshore Wind, Renewables, and Energy Transition, across the UK and Ireland.
Your Key Responsibilities:- Coordinate and deliver EIAs on complex marine and coastal infrastructure projects.
- Manage marine consents and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Conduct technical reviews and deliver high-quality reports.
- Build relationships with statutory consultees and other stakeholders.
- Help steer clients' projects through the complexities of marine consenting and environmental assessment.
- Support and mentor junior colleagues to develop their skills.
- Work safely at all times and report any health and safety incidents or concerns.
You will have a detailed knowledge of the EIA process on major energy infrastructure projects, ideally coupled with direct experience in the offshore renewables sector. Applicants with experience in other offshore industries or onshore energy infrastructure projects are also welcome.
- A degree in a relevant environmental subject, potentially with an MSc in a relevant topic, e.g., Environmental Impact Assessment or similar.
- Experience working in a consultancy environment, including managing EIA projects.
- Experience working as part of a team, including liaising with technical specialists, e.g., marine processes, underwater noise.
- Experience working with environmental stakeholders, including regulators and nature conservation bodies.
- The ability to communicate information to a range of audiences through high-quality written work and oral presentations.
