Job Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team at Harris Academy Rainham. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of our students.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, where you will have the chance to make a real difference in the lives of our students. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with our teachers to provide individualized support to students, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and support students in 1:1, group, or whole-class situations, ensuring their safety and access to learning in a purposeful and supportive learning environment.

• Assist in developing resources, schemes of work, and teaching strategies, working with the teacher to ensure the provision supports learning needs.

• Evaluate students' progress and provide feedback on their achievements, progress, and needs.

• Lead small group sessions and interventions as appropriate.

• Attend to students' personal needs where required.

• Support with behavior management.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Qualifications to degree level or equivalent.

• Basic knowledge of SEND and learning barriers.

• Some knowledge of strategies in working with young people with challenging behaviors.

• Knowledge of some of the social issues facing students from disadvantaged backgrounds.

• Awareness of Health and Safety issues in the workplace.

• Experience of working directly with young people in an education or training environment, supporting the learning of students.

• Experience of establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with a range of stakeholders, at all levels.

• Experience of managing and being responsible for your own workload.
