Technical Operations Engineer

ION Group is seeking a highly skilled Technical Operations Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our global team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of our hosted environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and resolve technical incidents assigned to you by the Service Desk
  • Prioritize and manage incidents, keeping stakeholders informed and up-to-date
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of our software and systems, including database structure and configuration files
  • Oversee and test the deployment of direct-delivered software
  • Collaborate with 3rd party vendors and exchanges to ensure seamless software upgrades and market events
  • Adhere to best practices and department procedures for client communications, incident progression, and investigation
  • Participate in shift patterns and assist with weekend work and out-of-hours escalation when required

Requirements:

  • Hold an IT, numerate, or business-related degree or equivalent experience
  • Have a strong analytical and problem-solving mindset, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to read and understand code in one or more programming languages, including C++, TCL, and UNIX Scripting
  • Ability to troubleshoot and approach problem-solving in a logical and methodical manner
  • Dynamic, resilient, and objective, with a strong desire to develop a deep understanding of financial markets and business flows
