Job Title: Commissioning Officer

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Commissioning Officer to join our team at Staffordshire County Council.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring children unable to access a school placement receive education, and will also be involved in overseeing the commissioning of alternative provision, developing this provision, liaising with and contract managing providers.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Leading on the commissioning of education to support children and young people who are not in a school placement.
  • Working with a range of practitioners and stakeholders to secure alternative provision for children not attending school.
Key Requirements:
  • Demonstrable experience and understanding of commissioning.
  • Knowledge of procurement and commissioning legislation, policy and processes.
  • Experience of contracts and/or performance processes.
