About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join our interdisciplinary team at STEPS Rehabilitation. As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality speech and language therapy to our clients with complex acquired communication and swallowing disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver effective and comprehensive assessments and interventions for clients with a range of swallowing and communication impairments.
  • Support the Lead Speech and Language Therapist in the development of the SLT service, including audit and training of the wider inter-disciplinary team.
  • Provide high-quality holistic speech and language therapy to our clients throughout their journey, aligned with STEPS values and behaviours.
  • Work closely with other members of the IDT to optimise client outcomes.
  • Develop SLT programmes and services for clients within STEPS, under the guidance of the Lead Speech and Language Therapist.
Requirements
  • Relevant clinical experience of working with the client group.
  • Knowledge and application of different assessments and therapy approaches for speech, language and communication impairments.
  • Documented evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Experience of working within governance frameworks, clinical systems, data management, complaints, reporting untoward incidents.
  • Desirable: Tracheostomy experience, LSVT experience and qualification, AAC experience, experience of training package development and delivery.
