Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at NHS Professionals Limited. The successful candidate will be based in the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals SLT service, working as a member of the acute team to provide a service to individuals with communication and/or swallowing problems.

Main Responsibilities

  • To conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' communication and swallowing abilities, seeking advice as necessary.
  • To develop and implement effective care plans based on best practice.
  • To stay up-to-date with relevant training and development opportunities to maintain and develop specialist skills and knowledge.
  • To work collaboratively with other professionals to provide a comprehensive service.
  • To assess, develop, and implement specialist Speech and Language Therapy treatment to a defined caseload of adult patients with communication and swallowing disorders.
  • To provide advice and training to other professionals, patients, carers, and families regarding the management and care of patients with communication disorders and/or feeding and swallowing difficulties.
  • To adapt practice to meet individual patients' needs.
