Academics Ltd is seeking a Counsellor Support Specialist to join our team in Pangbourne, Reading.

The ideal candidate will have a graduate degree in psychology and be looking to gain experience working with children aged 3-11 years old (KS1/KS2) with SEN/SEND needs.

This is an outstanding opportunity to work closely with professionals to support students with profound, multiple learning difficulties (PMLD)/SEN/SENCO and complex needs.

  • To work with a variety of SEN/SENCO/SEND including: Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia & ADD
  • Comfortable working with students in the classroom & on a 1:1 basis
  • Full Time & Long Term (academic term time)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualised support to students with SEN/SEND needs
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Assist with daily living tasks such as feeding, manual handling, and personal care

Requirements:

  • Solid academics: Graduate degree (2:1), A Levels, GCSEs
  • Must have childcare related experience (preferably KS1/KS2 aged 3-11 years old)
  • SEN/SEND/SENCO experience is desirable - voluntary or paid
  • Basic understanding of SEN essential
  • Compassionate and confident personality
