Based in Chorley, Lancashire, our client is a charity that specialises in providing supported housing throughout the UK.

Job Overview

The Assistant Management Accountant will play a key role in managing financial data, improving financial processes, and ensuring accurate, timely services to both internal and external clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee weekly payments and assist with month-end closures
  • Prepare draft management accounts and perform balance sheet reconciliations
  • Contribute to process reviews and improvements, streamlining financial systems and ensuring accurate recording of service charges, rents, and leases

As part of the finance team, you will be responsible for reviewing payment runs, managing month-end journal postings, monitoring purchase orders, and maintaining balance sheet reconciliations. You will also assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, VAT returns, and provide financial insights to managers for effective budgeting.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need AAT Level 2/3 or QBEE qualifications, experience in finance, knowledge of social housing, strong Excel skills, attention to detail, communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as a team.

Desirable skills include experience with Xero, purchase and sales ledger, knowledge of sinking funds, service charges, and a UK driving license.
