About the Role

This exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Merchandise Planner to join our team at The Very Group. As a key member of our Merchandise Planning team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the planning and execution of our merchandise strategy, working closely with our Under Armour partners to drive sales and profitability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Merchandise Planner in delivering joint strategic objectives and commercial budgets with Under Armour.
  • Work closely with the Merchandise Planner and Under Armour customer services team to manage stock flow from Under Armour through The Very Group's business.
  • Manage product lifecycle to deliver availability targets, ensuring that our customers have access to the products they want.
  • Involved in pricing within a product lifecycle to ensure volume and margin are maintained, while stocks are managed, aligning to the trading plan.
  • Support the delivery of effective critical path management to ensure that merchandise plans are fulfilled on time.
  • Work with the Under Armour team weekly to manage replenishment, utilizing the Forecasting application and any Under Armour specific tools.
  • Collaborate with logistics, operations, and sourcing to establish opportunities to increase speed to market.
  • Utilize data to inform effective decision-making for the department, ensuring that we are making the most of our resources.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of engaging and high-impact campaigns, managing budgets and timelines, and collaborating with colleagues across channel marketing, trade, and agencies to create integrated and creative campaign solutions.
  • Work with Marketing and Category colleagues to deliver category priorities, including contributing to quarterly reviews and new brand engagement.
About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and organized individual with a passion for retail merchandising. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Retail merchandising experience.
  • Good knowledge of Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to produce, analyze, and articulate findings from reports.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to establish relationships, internal and external, working cross-functionally and collaboratively.
  • A desire to understand the Very customer.
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Decision-making skills.
  • The ability to prioritize and manage workload.
  • A great attitude and a willingness to learn.
