About the Role

This exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Merchandise Planner to join our team at The Very Group. As a key member of our Merchandise Planning team, you will play a vital role in supporting the planning and execution of our merchandise activities.

Working closely with our Strategic Brand Partnership team, you will be responsible for driving Under Armour sales and maximizing customer satisfaction, sales, and profitability through effective commercial and inventory management and marketing campaign execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Merchandise Planner in delivering joint strategic objectives and commercial budgets with Under Armour.
  • Understand annual commercial budgets to deliver joint business objectives.
  • Work alongside the Merchandise Planner and Under Armour customer services team to manage stock flow from Under Armour through The Very Group business.
  • Manage product lifecycle to deliver availability targets.
  • Involved in pricing within a product lifecycle to ensure volume and margin maintained, whilst stocks managed, aligning to the trading plan.
  • Support the delivery of effective critical path management to effectively fulfill merchandise plans.
  • Work with the Under Armour team weekly to manage replenishment with utilization of the Forecasting application and any Under Armour specific tools.
  • Collaborate with logistics, operations, and sourcing to establish opportunities to increase speed to market.
  • Understand and utilize data to best inform effective decision-making for the department.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of engaging and high-impact campaigns, managing budgets and timelines, and collaborating with colleagues across channel marketing, trade, and agencies to create integrated and creative campaign solutions.
  • Work with Marketing and Category colleagues to deliver category priorities, including contributing to quarterly reviews and new brand engagement.

This role will require UK travel in the future and overseas travel to Under Armour's HQ in Amsterdam (minimum twice a year).

About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and organized individual with a passion for retail merchandising and a strong understanding of Excel. The ideal candidate will have/be:

  • Retail merchandising experience.
  • Good knowledge of Excel.
  • Strong with numbers – able to produce, analyze, and articulate findings from reports.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to establish relationships, internal and external, working cross-functionally and collaboratively.
  • Desire to understand the Very customer.
  • Problem-solving/critical thinking.
  • Decision-making skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage workload.
  • A great attitude and willingness to learn.
