Credit Controller

The Credit Controller will play a crucial role in limiting the company's exposure to bad debt by actively managing accounts and working towards monthly debt reduction targets. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a mixed currency ledger, ensuring accurate and timely allocation of payments.
- Reconcile EMEA ledger and allocate credits where applicable.
- Deal with daily queries, including copy invoices and PODs.
- Manage the release of orders to balance credit risk versus supporting business growth.
- Ensure invoices are uploaded in a timely manner to assist with cash flow.
- Reconcile chargebacks and forward necessary credits for approval.
- Liaise with internal departments to ensure seamless communication.
- Provide weekly statements to customers and reduce bad debt on the ledger.
- Upload EDI (where applicable) and ensure timely payments from customers.
- Maintain daily contact with customers via email, portal, and telephone.
- Follow internal processes and controls, ensuring SOX Compliance.
- Chase overdue debt and update systems and shared spreadsheets.
- Take payments over the phone from customers.
- Experience working in Credit Control, preferably in the FMCG industry.
- Experience with Amazon Central Supplier system is an advantage.
- Excellent IT skills, including intermediate Excel.
- Experience with EMEA ledger and EDI.
- Ability to work towards targets and be open to change and new ways of working.
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to listen and interpret information.
- A highly organized and proactive approach to work.
- Able to prioritize workload and respond to multiple deadlines and tasks.
