About UsOur Paediatric teams are responsible for delivering high-quality patient care across various settings, including inpatient wards, Paediatric Assessment Units, and outpatients. About the RoleWe are currently seeking a Locum Consultant Paediatrician to cover a vacancy due to sick leave for the next 6 months. This position will be based in RHCH, Winchester, with opportunities to work across both sites. As a Consultant of the Week, you will have the chance to lead a team, participate in outpatients and safeguarding sessions, and pursue specialist interests within your job plan.
Key Responsibilities- On-call duties at consultant level will involve covering the general paediatric ward and admissions, level 1+ neonatal unit, labour ward, and transitional care.
- The post may also include resident night posts, which would suit a recently qualified consultant looking to step up to consultant-level working.
In addition to clinical responsibilities, you will have time to pursue educational and research interests, contributing to the growth and development of our team.
Requirements- Essential qualifications: MRCPCH or equivalent, CCT Paediatrics or within 6 months of CCT, and on the GMC Specialist Register for Paediatrics.
- Broad training in General Paediatrics, Level 3 Neonatal Experience and Training, Safeguarding training and experience, and APLS/NLS.
- Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff, and to work with and lead a team.
We estimate the salary for this role to be around £120,000 - £140,000 per annum, commensurate with experience.
