Job Title: Commercial Financial Analyst

Job Summary:

The Commercial Financial Analyst will play a key role in the financial success of our manufacturing operations. This is a broad role that requires strong analytical skills, a thorough understanding of manufacturing and project accounting principles, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the financial aspects of our manufacturing operations, including cost accounting, inventory management, budgeting, and financial analysis.
  • Drive the financial success of our projects through close collaboration with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders.
  • Perform cost accounting activities, including the analysis of production costs, material costs, labor costs, and overhead costs.
  • Business partner with the project teams to ensure project revenue, costs, cash inflows, or outflows are accurately captured and reported.
  • Assist with the preparation of project cash flow forecasts, reports, and analysis of business activity for input to weekly and monthly group forecasts.
  • Attend regular project reviews and ensure estimated cost to go is in line with project schedule, challenging any deviations to cost budget baselines or where cost to go does not support project schedule.
  • Monitor and report on key financial metrics and performance indicators related to manufacturing.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Participate in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and documentation.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems, ideally IFS.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools.
