We are seeking an experienced and skilled Bank Cook to join our team at Elysium Healthcare in the North West. As a valued member of our staff bank, you will have the flexibility to choose shifts that align with your schedule.
In this role, you will play a vital part in preparing and cooking daily meals for service users, staff, and visitors. You will also have the opportunity to provide guidance and training to your peers, elevating your role in the kitchen team.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintain good food storage procedures and stock rotation according to established protocols to ensure high-quality food preparation.
- Prepare, plan, and cook meals to a consistently high standard, taking account of special requests or dietary requirements.
- Serve food and beverages to service users, staff, and visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
- Prepare and produce foods for conferences and banquets.
- Participate in food costings through effective cost control procedures.
- Adhere to 'Safer Food Better Business' standards and record keeping.
- Comply with Food Hygiene Regulations and other safety procedures at all times.
- Take full shift responsibility for the catering operation.
- Fully complete all paperwork related to the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point system (HACCP).
- Aged 18 years or older.
- GCSE or equivalent English qualification.
- City & Guilds 706/1 and 2 (or equivalent) Basic Food Preparation Cooking certification.
- Basic Food Hygiene certification.
- Experience preparing quality food to a high standard.
- Knowledge of menu planning and costing.
- An estimated hourly rate of £13.07, inclusive of holiday allowance uplift.
