Job Title: Field Service Engineer - Laboratory Equipment

Avidity Science is seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer to join our team in the UK. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for providing top-notch service to our clients in the Healthcare and Scientific Research market.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform on-site preventive maintenance visits and electrical/mechanical fault finding of equipment, including water treatment and laboratory systems.
  • Carry out commissioning and installation work on laboratory equipment, such as Lab water products, CO2 Incubators, autoclaves, and air flow cabinets.
  • Provide after-sales technical and commercial support to clients.
  • Work from technical documents, including installation manuals and maintenance manuals.
  • Complete required service documentation and call reports.
  • Collaborate with the Service Office team to provide exceptional customer experience.
  • Maintain a car stock inventory of spare parts.
  • Adhere to Health and Safety Procedures.
Requirements:
  • NVQ or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • A full UK driving license is required.
  • Experience as a Service Engineer, Test Engineer, or in a field-based technical support role is essential.
  • Working knowledge of electrical/mechanical equipment is required.
  • Experience with reverse-osmosis water systems and/or biosafety airflow cabinets is a distinct advantage.
  • Knowledge of the Healthcare and Scientific market is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple tasks.
  • Passionate about providing a first-class service to customers.
  • Professional and diligent approach to work and communication with colleagues and customers.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels in a clear and concise manner.
  • Good level of IT competency, including knowledge of PLC controls and Business CRMs.
  • Spoken French and German language skills are an advantage.
