About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team in Old Age Psychiatry at Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust. As a Consultant Psychiatrist in Old Age Psychiatry, you will be responsible for providing high-quality psychiatric care to patients referred to our service, and providing senior medical leadership as part of the multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and provide treatment plans for patients with a range of psychiatric conditions, including dementia, depression, and anxiety disorders.
  • Provide senior medical leadership and guidance to the multidisciplinary team, including junior doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Attend daily meetings with the multidisciplinary team to discuss patient care and treatment plans.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical guidelines and policies for the service.
  • Participate in research and service evaluation projects to improve patient outcomes and service delivery.

Requirements
  • MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • MRCPsych or equivalent qualification.
  • Full registration with the GMC and inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register.
  • Approved clinician status and S12 approval under the Mental Health Act.
  • Excellent clinical skills and knowledge in Old Age Psychiatry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
