About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust. As a Consultant Psychiatrist in Old Age Psychiatry, you will be responsible for providing high-quality psychiatric care to patients referred to our service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and develop treatment plans for patients with complex mental health needs.
  • Provide senior medical leadership and guidance to the multidisciplinary team, ensuring high-quality care and effective management of patient cases.
  • Attend daily and weekly meetings to discuss patient cases, share knowledge, and collaborate with colleagues to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical guidelines, policies, and procedures to ensure best practice in Old Age Psychiatry.
  • Participate in research and service evaluation projects to improve patient care and outcomes.

Requirements
  • MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
  • Included on the GMC Specialist Register or within six months.
  • Approved clinician status or able to achieve within 3 months of appointment.
  • Excellent knowledge in Old Age Psychiatry and excellent clinical skills using a bio-psycho-social perspective.
